What began as a vision in the hearts of a few Christian believers in 1893 has become a historic and cultural landmark, situated in the heart of ‘Old Pasadena.’ Friendship Baptist Church, ‘The Jewel Of Old Pasadena’ stands as both a testimony of our past and a promise for our future. Earthquakes, economic uncertainty, spiritual upheaval and evolving neighborhood conditions have all failed to hinder the Purpose of God from being realized in this place. And as long as we remain true to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, I am convinced that we will continue to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom until the Lord returns again for His people.

It is both an honor and a privilege to be counted among the great men who have served before me as Pastor of this wonderful church. Baptized by our 14^th Pastor (Rev. Marvin T. Robinson), and licensed to preach by our 15^th Pastor (Rev. Stanley W. Lewis), I realized the responsibility that lies upon me. I believe that the greatest pages of our history have yet to be written. I believe that God has specific work for us to do in this community, and that every one of us has a part to play.
